Celebrating our supporters: Impact Awards 2022

Last week we celebrated our supporters and achievements over the past twelve months with our annual Impact Awards. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Our fantastic hosts, Ayisha and Anoosha, guided us through the event as we announced 10 worthy winners, spoke to programme alumni, and were joined by some very special guests including Hywel Ball, EY UK Chair and UK&I Managing Partner; Anna Anthony, EY UK Managing Partner, Financial Services; our own CEO Lynne Peabody; Ebenezer, Co-Vice Chair of our Youth Advisory Board; Patrick Dunne, our Chair; and Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE, founder and CEO of Stemettes.

Keynote speeches from Jaden, who participated in our Your Future programme earlier this year, and Patricia Chale, Interim CEO of Youth Futures Foundation, highlighted the opportunities and challenges facing young people from diverse backgrounds as they embark on their careers.

As the job market accelerates, employers will have to rethink what constitutes work-ready so as to enable young people to learn and grow on the job.

The government can make a difference by […] ensuring that young people in schools are exposed to the different opportunities that can enable them to get into the job market that isn’t necessarily the traditional university route.

From a remarkable group of nominees, we were delighted to recognise the efforts of our 2022 winners...

  • Ali Raza – Young Ambassador of the Year: Ali has taken up numerous opportunities since his time on the Tech Futures programme, including featuring in our 2021 Impact Report video, supporting our involvement in the One Million Mentors project, and becoming a member of our Youth Advisory Board (YAB).

When we think about the future of work we get to consider a lot of these technologies that are coming up […] and we get to think of what does that really mean […] What does that look like for hiring? What does that look like for recruitment?
