The EY Foundation is a charitable company registered in England and Wales and Scotland with registered charity number 1157154 and SC045076. It is also a member firm of Ernst & Young Global Limited
We can only do our work with the support of volunteers who offer their time and skills to assist our programmes. Just a small amount of time can make a big difference to the future career aspirations of a young person. Volunteer with the EY Foundation and use your experience to make a positive impact.
We will offer full training and support to ensure your volunteering experience is enjoyable and rewarding.
Please note we are dedicated to safeguarding our young people, therefore DBS checks and NSPCC training will be required for particular volunteering roles. Keep reading to find out more.
I think it’s fantastic I have this opportunity to give back…it’s great to be able to support someone as they step on to the career ladder.
EY Foundation offers full briefing and training for all roles so you will feel supported in your volunteering journey. We have opportunities across our four hubs in the U.K.
There are lots of different ways to volunteer with us depending on your experience and availability. Take a look at some of our roles:
1. Workshop Facilitator
Support or lead our employability training workshops. Offer as little as one hour or up to one day of your time, depending on your availability.
2. Guest Speaker or Panellist
Speak about your career journey, current job or a specialist topic at one of our events, sharing your experience with groups of young people and answering their questions. Events can last between one – three hours.
3. Business Experience Host
Host a student for work experience in your team as part of our Smart Futures or Our Future programmes, arranging a series of engaging activities for up to 4 consecutive days and showcasing your area of work. If you are interested in this opportunity, look at our employer page to learn how we work with other businesses.
4. Mentor
Mentor a student during their final year in full-time education and provide guidance on decisions about their future, through monthly meetings for up to 10 months. Specialist NSPCC online child protection training, as well as mentoring and safeguard training, is provided. Please note you will also require a DBS check.
Please note volunteers may be subject to an independence check, and employees of audit clients of EY may face independence restrictions.
I feel so proud to be involved with the EY Foundation and it has been such a pleasure being a part of the [business challenge] panels. I feel I am able to live my personal purpose through [these] opportunities.
Working with the young people has given me an opportunity to realise the importance and benefits of having good experiences in the working environment. The confidence and personal development you see in such a short time in these young people is remarkable.
