Celebrating a decade of impact

EY Foundation turns 10

EY Foundation is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Thanks to the support of employers, fundraisers, volunteers, schools, and colleges, we have been transforming the lives of young people from low-income backgrounds since 2014.

Over the last 10 years, with your help, we’ve been able to:

  • Support over 24,000 young people who qualify for free school meals with employability skills training, paid work experience, mentoring, and careers support;
  • Create over 23,000 volunteering opportunities, ably taken on by passionate volunteers across the UK; and,
  • Fulfil over 2,200 employer engagement opportunities, bringing employers closer to their goals on social mobility, diversifying talent, and future skills.

Smart Futures is definitely something that stuck with me throughout all these years. The programme showed me what I could aim for, it gave me an idea of the outside world […] There’s so much more happening and there are opportunities if you’re willing to work for them.

We are proud of what we’ve achieved together and look forward to celebrating over the coming year with events, award evenings, fundraising challenges, and more.

We will also be looking forward to the next decade and achieving our ambition to enable all young people who qualify for free school meals, which is over 2 million young people in the UK, to have the same opportunity to succeed as their peers.

To ensure you don't miss any of the celebrations , you can sign up to our monthly supporters’ newsletter, and if you would like to mark this milestone with us you can contact our communications team for our tenth anniversary resource pack.

Thank you for making the EY Foundation's success to date possible.

The programme has supported us in achieving DEI goals by providing opportunities for young people to understand more about our industry and business. It has also opened the business' eyes further to see the benefits of supporting young people as well as gaining an external perspective on our business.

The Smart Futures programme has had a massive impact on me. […] You meet some amazing people along the way, you meet wonderful professionals and you also meet other young people who are in the same boat as you.
