What is the group size?
Likely to be around 15-20 people. It will be a great opportunity to take on a challenge with like-minded people.
What if I don’t make the fundraising target?
As you are covering the cost of the adventure there will no penalty for not meeting the fundraising target. Your group are ambitious about the impact they want to have on young people’s lives so we hope that you will raise as much as you can to support the group target.
How hard is the trek?
The trek is classified as ‘challenging’ – this is mainly due to the temperature and the length of walking each day and the terrain.
How fit do I need to be and how fit are the other people going?
To make the most of the experience you will want to have a good level of fitness. But don’t worry there is plenty of time to train over the next eight months.
Our trek partner has some training schedules you can follow, which will be provided in your account area once you have sign up. The Global Adventure Challenges and ground reps will be brilliant motivators as they have guided several treks previously!
Where will we be sleeping?
When in Siem Reap you will be staying in air-conditioned hotels with en-suite washing facilities, usually two people to a room. The hotels are clean and comfortable but can be much more basic than what you are used to in the UK. Whilst we are on the trek we will be staying in tents (provided), one person per tent. You will be provided with a mattress, pillow and blankets.
Will there be medical assistance on the trip?
Yes, a UK doctor is travelling with us. You are reminded to let us know in advance of any health concerns or medical conditions
How cold does it get in the evenings?
When the sun goes in the temperature does drop, but 20 degrees after dark.
Will I have wifi / access to phone charger on the trek?
In all major cities and towns in Cambodia you can expect to have cellular access as well as at most popular beach locations. However, we are trekking through remote parts of the country so expect your mobile phone coverage to be poor for significant parts of the challenge.
Will we have a chance to meet up with the group before we fly in November?
Yes, we are planning training walks in late summer- dates TBC.
Who much does it cost?
£2,297 with a registration fee of £299. The fundraising goal is £1,500 per person (for Group 2) however there is not a penalty for not achieving this fundraising target as you have covered the full cost of the trek.
Are there any other costs?
Most costs are covered in the price. In addition, these costs are extra…
When do I have to sign up by?
We are aiming to close sign-ups in July to make sure everyone has enough time to fundraise and train to get the best out of the experience.
