During October half term we were joined by over 200 alumni at our ‘Lunch & Business Network’ events, across all four of our hubs. From Glasgow to Manchester, London to Birmingham, these events brought together our alumni network and local business volunteers to foster connections and support our alumni with their personal and career development.
Alumni had the chance to explore different job paths and local career opportunities, connecting with 40 employers from a range of sectors including construction, law, airline, charity, recruitment, professional services, research and technology.
As well as a space to network with peers and employers, each event featured a panel of diverse speakers and experienced professionals, who provided alumni with the chance to ask their burning questions and shared their thoughts on a range of topics including:
- The power of networking
- Tackling imposter syndrome and encouraging self-belief
- The importance of life-long learning
- Workplace culture and bringing your whole self to work
It was fantastic to see the energy and enthusiasm in each hub, with new relationships being developed and insights being shared.
The panel was really useful to gain a better understanding of the different paths that people have taken to advance in their own careers.
These events form part of our Limitless Series, an initiative open to our alumni which promotes post-programme opportunities for them to continue their personal and professional development and remain engaged with EY Foundation once they have graduated from our programmes.
