Step Into Business


What is Step Into Business?

Step into Business provides guidance and support on how to step up a new business.

The programme kicks off with a 1-day interactive workshop which leads participants through the various steps needed to take a business idea and turn it into reality. Following the workshop, those with a business idea can request a 1 to 1 business coach with the aim of taking their business idea forward and can apply for a £2,000 start up grant from EY Foundation.

 

Aims of the programme

  • Increased knowledge and skills on how to start a new business and social enterprise​
  • Opportunity to benefit from 1 to 1 business coaching for up to 6 months to develop a business idea​
  • Increase motivation and confidence linked to future career ambition​
  • Enhanced business network opportunities​
  • Opportunity to apply and pitch for a £2,000 start up grant for new businesses who are either in line with EY Foundation ethical policy or a new social enterprise

Who can take part?

The programme is aimed at following young people:

  • Aged 16-19 years of age
  • Have a business idea or at the very least are very keen on the idea of setting up their own business
  • Eligible for Free School Meals or the college bursary / Education Maintenance Allowance
  • Live in London, Glasgow, Manchester or Birmingham
