Your Future


What is Your Future?

Your Future is a six-month programme aimed at students who want to go straight into work after school, rather than further education at the end of year 13. Each participant will receive two weeks of paid employability skills training, interactive workshops and paid work experience.

 

The Your Future programme is run across different locations in the UK, including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. 


What does the Your Future programme involve?

On the Your Future programme, you will:

  • Five days of employability skills training and interactive workshops. This will include team-building introductory sessions, CV surgeries and speakers from a range of professions.
  • Two-day recruitment bootcamp, where speakers present live job opportunities after which students can research and, if suited, then apply.
  • Three day’s paid work experience in an industry that aligns with your employment ambitions where possible.
  • Job coach who will support you throughout the programme for 6 months. 

Can I be part of the Your Future programme?

To apply, you must be:

  • Eligible for free school meals or the college bursary at any time in the last two years. You can see if you are eligible using this tool
  • Interested in careers that cover technology or jobs in business administration and support
  • In Year 13 (England) or Fifth Year (Scotland) at the time the programme starts
  • Attending a state school
  • Studying any combination of A-level/International Baccalaureate/BTEC Level 3s/National 5/Highers/Level 2/Level 3 Qualifications
  • Ambitious and motivated to learn about the world of work
  • Looking for great paid work experience in the school holidays that will help you secure a job
