Smart Futures

A 10-month programme giving young people the opportunity to gain paid work experience and take part in interactive employability skills workshops during the school holidays. They are also offered the opportunity to network with both employers and other young people, as well as having access to their own supportive mentor to help guide them into the first stage of a career or higher education. Students can only take part if they have been recently eligible for free school meals, a college bursary or Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).

Our Future

A six-month programme specifically designed for young people aged 16-19 who are referred to us, not only because they are recently eligible for free school meals, a college bursary or Education Maintenance Allowance, but also because they may face additional barriers and have struggled with school as a result. The programme offers the unique chance to meet employers, receive a mentor, learn employability skills via specially designed workshops and gain paid work experience.

Your Future

A six-month programme aimed at students who want to go straight into work, rather than further education, at the end of year 13. Participants receive two weeks of paid employability skills training, interactive workshops such as recruitment bootcamps, and work experience, followed by six months of guidance from a job coach to directly support them into a role. Young people can take part if they have been recently eligible for free school meals, a college bursary or Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).

Beyond Your Limits

A programme specifically co-designed with and for care-experienced young people, currently in full or part-time education and aged 16-20. The programme offers up to two years of support including paid skills training, multiple work experience placements, financial support through a personal development grant, and access to a business mentor and a progression coach.

I Am & Can Be

A three-part professional and personal development workshop series with the aim of building aspiration, confidence and professional insight for 11–15-year-olds. The workshops focus on various themes, including an introduction to diverse careers as well as mental health and wellbeing, for complete holistic support. This series is split into different community groups, offering young people the opportunity to choose which community resonates most, providing a space within which they feel comfortable to discuss issues that matter to them:

  • The She / They Community
  • The He / They Community
